Alain LeNôtre
Alain LeNôtre , son of Gaston Lenôtre, is a certified pastry chef, candy maker and ice cream maker;[1] he was also trained as a cook at Le Grand Véfour, a restaurant in Paris. LeNôtre earned a MBA from the University of Paris I.
In 1971 he created the Ecole Lenotre in Paris, France, where he taught for a number of years. He developed the international LeNotre pastry shop franchise and technical assistance departments, expanding the LeNotre chains in Japan, Germany and Brazil. After receiving a request for a franchise in Texas, Alain LeNôtre and his wife were invited to visit Houston, Texas in 1981. Ultimately they started their own business there, first with a retail and wholesale bakery. [2] [3] In 1998, they opened Culinary Institute Lenotre. [4] [5] There are now six "Alain LeNôtre" restaurants and bakeries in Cairo, Egypt.
In October 2011, Alain LeNôtre opened Kris Bistro & Wine Lounge within the Culinary Institute LeNôtre as a restaurant open to the public and a training center for students. [6] [7]
